A qualification ideal for installers who need to demonstrate their knowledge of Fire Sprinkler installation.

The Course

This qualification is specifically aimed at individuals who are employed in the residential fire sprinkler industry. The course will cover legislation, standards and best practice for onsite work. Please note this is not a Lv1 beginners course and does not cover basic installation practice.

All candidates must hold a valid CSCS card (or show proof of application) and be 18 years old or above.

After successfully completion you will be eligible to apply for you JIB Blue residential sprinkler installers card.

Who Is It Aimed At?

Fire Sprinkler Installers seeking qualification to demonstrate their knowledge of the installation of residential & domestic fire sprinklers.

Prerequisites

  • Must hold valid CSCS card (or show proof of application)
  • Must be 18 years or above.
  • No prior knowledge needed, but must be working in the Fire Sprinkler Installation industry with onsite access.
  • Must have a Workplace Mentor, verifying all aspects of the onsite work you submit online, including video and photographic evidence.

Typical Duration

  • One day virtual classroom over TEAMS
  • Remote learning modules completed through Vault learning platform.
  • Portfolio based evidence will be submitted by the learner in form of Photos and videos.
  • Expected 12-16  weeks to complete coursework (Max 1 year)

How It Works

One day of virtual classroom conducted over Teams – course is run typically with between 8-14 candidates. Candidates will be assigned an online tutor to assess all learning. Onsite workplace evidence will be submitted via an online portal, consisting of videos, photographs and online written assessments. You will need to be able to provide videos of yourself completing set tasks. All video evidence must be verified by your Workplace Mentor.

Certification

Once course is successfully completed the candidate will have a SFJ Awards Certificate Level 2 in Fire Sprinkler installation. This course will provide an entrance qualification for the Level 3 SFJ Awards in Commissioning, Servicing and Maintaining Sprinkler Systems.
